Western Australia’s golden girl Miss Envy returns to Victoria in the Listed Maidment Memorial (595m) at Sandown Park this Thursday night.
She’s fresh from a gutsy win in last week’s Group 1 Golden Sands (600m) at Q2 Parklands in Queensland.
That win wasn’t the first of her scalps over the middle-distance, having won the Sir John Dillon Memorial (595m) on Melbourne Cup night last November – in the second fastest time ever (33.585, behind Collinda Patty’s 33.562), if you don’t mind.
However, in this Thursday’s Maidment she won’t have it easy from box 8 against a field of very handy ‘600’ metre operators. Including Paw Petrov, who’s won his past four and was outstanding last Thursday night – click here for the meeting’s Race Data.
It’s Race 6 on the card while the other black type event is Race 8, the Listed Australian Sprint.
Paw Oswald and Avengement look the biggest hopes with Paw Oswald expected to hold track position in box 1 – a draw he has a sublime record from with form at the track to match.
Also of note, superstar Tim Zoo features in Race 9. He’s drawn well which has been a rare occurrence for many months, he gets a big chance to bounce back.
