The countdown to the world’s richest greyhound race is officially on.

Following approval from both the Greyhound Racing Integrity Unit (GRIU) and the Independent Assessment Panel (IAP), the eight slot holders for this year’s edition of The Phoenix have been confirmed.

With $1.65 million in prizemoney up for grabs at The Meadows on Saturday December 13, each of these slot holders will now set their sights on securing the greyhound that can deliver Phoenix glory.

MGRA CEO Scott Wuchatsch said the announcement lifts the curtain on what promises to be the most competitive edition yet.

“Every year The Phoenix raises the bar, and this year will be no different. The mix of slot holders we’ve assembled guarantees fierce competition, big stories and an unforgettable night of racing.”
