Ethanol Water came from the clouds to win the Group 3 Fireball (730m) at The Meadows tonight.

Her Fireball victory came in start 78 and was her fourth Group race victory.

Trained by Team Dailly, Ethanol Water has been a tried-and-true stayer for her career, and she doesn’t look to be slowing down.

The 2025 edition of the Fireball wasn’t without troubles. Pre-race favourite Without A Trace finished at the back of the field and Lanfranco took his mind off the job and cost himself the race.

Lanfranco held onto second placing and reserve Henry Intention finished third.

After settling well back early, Ethanol Water unleashed a powerful surge through the middle stages to overhaul the field. A well-timed move saw her take command in the later stages and surge clear for a decisive win.
