Pink Diamond – the night didn’t disappoint

Geelong didn’t disappoint tonight in hosting the Pink Diamond – Victoria’s biggest stage for Victorian bred greyhounds.

The Pink Diamond Champion Sprinter was a race that promised the world and delivered. Matt Loch held off champion Explicit, leading coast-to-coast in a display of brutal speed.

Matt Loch (7) holds off Explicit (2) in the Champion Sprinter, clocking a time of 25.40 seconds over the 460 metre distance.

$50,000 went the way of Sharapova Star in the Champion Short Course (400m) for Tina Womann. Her win was tough as nails, after being headed by Better Banjo.

Sharapova Star (5) won the Champion Short Course the hard way, running over the top of Better Banjo (1) in a time of 22.54 seconds.

It was a kennel and litter quinella for Team Dailly when Ethanol Water claimed supreme in the Pink Diamond Champion Distance final, with litter brother Ethanol Volume finishing second.

The siblings are out of international sire Droopys Sydney and My Ethanol.
