Six-figure buy to make Victorian debut

New South Wales’ hyped sprinter Gold Force makes his Victorian debut this Sunday in a heat of the Sportsbet Ballarat Cup.

He was purchased early last year for a six-figure sum, before he even had a race start, by prominent harness racing owner Mick Boots – as reported by The Greyhound Recorder.

He’s had seven starts for six wins, the most recent of them a track record breaking performance at Goulburn over 440m. The record was held by Hotel Whisky One.

It’s been an interrupted career to date but he’s clearly humming ahead of Sunday’s assignment.

He’s drawn box 8 and meets last week’s Group 1 Harrison-Dawson winner Flying Zulu.

It’s a very strong set of seven heats. Some other popular names include Explicit, Lakeview Emily, Morton, Smooth Plane, Matt Loch and Schillaci.
