We learnt nothing more about Saquon

We got what we expected with Saquon on Thursday night with a domination in the Maiden final.

He went in as the fastest greyhound ever to break Maiden status at Sandown Park, and off the back of it nothing has changed.

He won by seven lengths in a super fast time of 29.10 – only eclipsed narrowly by multiple Group 1 winner Excavation late in the night with 29.09.

Saquon began awkwardly but his turn-of-foot that followed was lethal. On a card of racing that featured the sport’s rockets on the big stage, his acceleration matched them.

Seconds between each distance range

Another one out of the Maiden final, which you may have noticed above, is Weblec Snoop. And he was arguably held up by Saquon through the catching pen area – sounds weird doesn’t it.

He got really tired late but it looks like he can clearly go.

Make sure both are in your Watchdog Blackbook. Visit our Race Data page for all of the performance numbers out of Thursday’s meeting.

Saquon (6), Weblec Snoop (8) and Whiskey Whiskers (7) all run big races in the Maiden final
