Melbourne Storm complete Phoenix puzzle

The Phoenix field for 2024 has been finalised as the Melbourne Storm has this morning announced Lakeview Emily as their representative in the world’s richest greyhound race.

Owned and trained by Team Whelan, Lakeview Emily comes into the fourth edition of The Phoenix in rare form after posting a 29.55 victory at The Meadows two starts back before running 29.10 at Sandown at her most recent outing.

Rinsed The Lot had initially been announced as the Storm’s representative back in early September before withdrawing due to injury.

The all-important box draw will be conducted LIVE on Sky Racing 1 and the Watchdog App this Sunday at 10.30am.

Connections of greyhounds wanting to be considered for The Phoenix reserve pool need to nominate with Greyhound Racing Victoria prior to 10.20am this morning – Friday 13 December – with the reserves set to be announced in conjunction with the meeting’s fields on Wednesday 18 December.

More to come.
