Jet out to land Iconic feature

Iconic Jet is a highly promising West Australian sprinter and has his eyes on next Saturday’s Group 1 Silver Chief final at The Meadows.

He was one of the most impressive winners of the heats with the fastest back split (17.58) of the card, which backed up his immensely impressive trial the week prior in preparation.

The fastest (29.81) of the heats came in the opener courtesy of Paw Vortex for Team Grenfell.

Sportsbet Melbourne Cup finalist Epitomize was another of the heat winners. He’s known for his faultless early speed but had to bring out the blue collar and get the job done after he was slow to begin, by his standards anyway.

With six heats the two fastest runner-ups also progressed to the final, they were Paw Qwan and Raven Peter.

Earlier in the night powerhouse sprinter Tim Zoo put forward his finest case to fill one of the two remaining Phoenix slots. He led all of the way in Race 2 stopping the clock at a flying 29.59.

Slot holders have until Friday to finalise their representative in the $1.65M feature. Total Container Solutions and the Melbourne Storm (after Rinsed The Lot was withdrawn) are yet to confirm their runners.
