Theresa Stevens of Garfield got more than she bargained for at Saturday night’s Shootout at Sandown Park.

The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager and West Gippsland Healthcare Group, Theresa was the second winner in the Chase Your Dream promotion, in which over $100,000 in cash and prizes is being given away to people attending greyhound racing’s 2023 Sportsbet Dream Chasers Festival at The Meadows and Sandown Park during November and December.

She was one of eight lucky patrons on course at the Shootout that were drawn and allocated a greyhound in Race 8 as part of the promotion.

As the seventh person drawn, Theresa was allocated the number seven dog, Vaucluse Bale, and when her greyhound was first across the line, she got to choose a box to reveal her prize.

“We watched the Topgun on TV the week before and thought the coverage was absolutely fantastic, so we decided to head to Sandown Park to watch the Shootout”

She decided to stick to the theme and select lucky number seven, which saw her win a fully catered corporate suite at Marvel Stadium for 12 people at the AFL match of her choice, valued at $7,000.

“I was there with my partner Keith. We watched the Topgun on TV the week before and thought the coverage was absolutely fantastic, so we decided to head to Sandown Park to watch the Shootout in person,” Theresa said.

“I won a $700 jackpot at the pokies earlier in the night, so I was extremely lucky.”
