The Stir Up | October 6 Edition

GRV’s Peter Quilty, Gerard Guthrie and Trent Langskaill provide their thoughts on some of the star greyhounds racing in Victoria.

Keep an eye on these, they are worth saving in your WatchDog Blackbook!

Quilts Fellas, I hope we have enough space to adequately cover the top-class greyhound racing that is happening over the weekend in three different states.

Gerard Let’s start with tonight’s Adelaide Cup Final, Quilts. Can the excitement machine Big Energy claim Group 1 glory? Will the inside draw pave the way for Transponder to triumph?

Trent You’ve mentioned two of the Victorian-based finalists, Gerard, but the quality doesn’t stop there with impressive youngster Mepunga Smokey, Crackerjack Bull and Launch Code.

Quilts Jihad Talgi and I have stopped chatting about the Magpies, Trent, but he is dreaming big with Schillaci, who he referred to as “the Nick Daicos of the sport”.

Gerard The clash between Group 1 winner Umberto and country cups queen Kelsey Bale in the second of the Million Dollar Chase semi-finals promises to be an enthralling race.

Quilts Each semi-final seems to contain a Victorian star, Gerard. Mackenna (R3), Hector Fawley (R6), Yachi Bale (R7), Postman Pat (R8), Tinker Norm (R9) and Idolize (R10). Wow!

Trent Another tremendous contest is set to occur at The Meadows tomorrow night with Group 1 winners Baby Jaycee and Amron Boy in the 525-metre Free For All.

Quilts The focus switches to Bendigo on Sunday night with eight sensational heats of the Group 2 Bendigo Cup. Can Unleash Collinda bounce back after being upstaged twice at Sale?

Gerard Lektra Heckler has been amazing in his three runs since returning from a break. The Shepparton Cup winner is one of the headline acts and he is in the fifth heat.

Trent The seventh heat should be intriguing with 48-time winner Silver Brute against budding star Volkanovski. Bring on an outstanding three nights of chasing!
