Ronald McDonald House | Walk In My Shoes Fundraiser

Chair Peita Duncan, on behalf of GRV, will spend tonight at a Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) location to learn about the important work they do and help raise funds for the cause.

RMHC provide holistic support to families throughout their child’s recovery with illness or injury.

Families often have to travel far from home to receive the medical care their child needs, and RMHC keeps families together under the one roof and close to hospital.

RMCH has 18 Houses providing essential care and support for families, only steps away from hospitals.

During her 24-hour overnight immersion experience, Peita will be:

  • Cooking and serving dinner and breakfast to the families;
  • Guided through real life scenarios, gaining a better understanding of what families go through;
  • Using skills and knowledge together to tackle a business issue;
  • Gaining a unique insight on what it takes to run the House and create a true sense of empathy for the families that stay in a Ronald McDonald House.

Peita is hoping to reach a target of $5000, with funds raised be used to support families in between and after hospital stays through initiatives such RMHC’s Learning Program or Family Retreats.
