Saturday morning racing heads to Shepparton

Saturday morning greyhound racing heads to Shepparton tomorrow and greyhound racecaller-breeder-owner-trainer James Van de Maat has come up with a couple of each-way specials on the program.

Mrs. Flintstone (Race 7 Box 2, 9.50am)

“I think the best bet on the program would be to have a small each-way bet on Race 7 No. 2, Mrs. Flintstone… A recent change of kennel, might just be fresh and ready to fire over the 450m short course… Has been racing well over the longer trips but has been going pretty well.”

Straaljager (Race 12 Box 7, 11.05am)

“As for the greyhound prepared by JCV Lodge, that is of course Race 12 No.7, Straaljager… I would say that he’s been trialling fairly well… He’s got a wide runner as soon as the lids open in box number six, Ted’s Dream, so it’s going to be tough going for him to get past the ‘six’ in the run to the first corner… No. 2 Landslide won pretty well there last time out… I think the 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 all look dangers… But if he does get a clear run at them, Straaljager, he’s definitely quick enough to go close to winning… We give him a good each-way chance, he just needs a bit of luck getting past the ‘six’… If he had drawn underneath Ted’s Dream, I would have definitely increased his chances.”
