‘Security’ conscious

The Restricted Win final (3-6 Wins) over 525 metres at The Meadows on Saturday night will be a keenly contested affair considering six of the eight runners have won on the track.

Expert form analyst The Watchdog has tipped Security Code ($3.20) on top, followed by My Dewana Penny ($4.60) and Zekel Bale ($10.00).

Trained by Angela Langton, Security Code last week registered the fastest heat time defeating Zekel Bale by one length in 30.24sec. It was a strong performance as he was midfield in the initial stages and did his best work over the concluding stages.

Security Code has a 29.91sec (Box 1) personal best at The Meadows, so he’s well suited from box two in the final.

The other heat was taken out by the Jordan Cooper-trained Crackerjack Dev, who led throughout to defeat My Dewana Penny by a half-length in 30.41sec.

Crackerjack Dev will occupy box eight in the final, a draw from which he’s notched one win and one second from four starts.

Other finalists to have saluted at The Meadows are Gino Gambino (30.23sec), Zekel Bale (30.23sec), My Dewana Penny (30.32sec) and Baby Eden (30.34sec).

Reserve, Selynya Teddy comes into the final following the scratching of Elle Est Bonne (Box 5).

Little River trainer Paul Bartolo has a dual chance with Gino Gambino and My Dewana Penny.

The Restricted Sprint final – which carries a $6,540 first prize – is Race 11 on Saturday’s program and is scheduled to start at 10.15pm.
