Batman aiming for back-to-back Top Cat Cups

After a stirring duel in the Stayers Speed Star at Sandown Park last weekend, Tornado Tears and Rajasthan dominate betting on Saturday night’s heats of the Group 3 Top Cat Video Cup (725m) at The Meadows.

Rajasthan gave hot favourite Tornado Tears a major scare in their Speed Star match race, which wasn’t the first time Robert Camilleri’s on-pacer has caused problems for Australia’s number one stayer this year.

Rajasthan famously led all-the-way at huge odds in the Group 1 Sandown Cup before claiming the champion’s scalp for the second time in the Victorian Final of the National Distance Championship.

After filling the Speed Star quinella last Sunday, Tornado Tears and Rajasthan are the headline acts in the two Top Cat Video Cup heats.
Striving to go back-to-back in the event, Tornado Tears, is a $1.20 chance with TAB from box five in the first run-off, while Rajasthan is $1.85 from the seven alley in heat two.

2019 Speed Star: Tornado Tears broke away from Rajasthan in the home straight to record a time of 42.12, the quickest of the night over 715m.
