INDUSTRY UPDATE – EDITION 7

Recently I travelled to the United Kingdom to learn more about the English and Irish greyhound racing industries and it was an experience that I found extremely beneficial. To be able to develop meaningful relationships that will allow for an easier flow of information between the two jurisdictions is something that will prove advantageous to the greyhound racing industry as a whole.

The main purpose for my trip was to form the basis of a strategic alliance with the Irish Greyhound Racing Board (IGB) around the exchange of information between the two parties on some of the critical issues to greyhound racing such as; marketing strategies, animal welfare, integrity and the administration of the sport (rules and regulations).
I met with a wide range of industry stakeholders, whether it was owners, trainers, administrators or government representatives, and I was able to  discuss greyhound racing in a proactive way and share ideas that will help our industry
