FEARNLEY ON TRACK

Gippsland’s Mick Fearnley is one of many trainers who have taken advantage of booking trials on-line, which were recently introduced as part of GRV’s new computer system, FastTrack.

Up until October 15, Fearnley had booked a total of 32 trials on-line, a figure bettered only by Paul Galea at 36.

In third place was Wayne Vassallo (30), Jackie Greenough (27), Margaret Campbell (22), Davide Fasoli (22), Les Hughes (21), David Curtain (20), Barry Harper (20), Graham Glass (20) and Graham Hall (20).

Below Fearnley took part in a Q & A session in relation to his experiences with booking trials on-line.

 
Q. Why the decision to book trials on-line?

MICK FEARNLEY: An old bookmaker named Bill Waterhouse once said to me if you want to succeed you have to embrace change, and that motto has served me well in life.

Q. Did you find it daunting at first?

MICK FEARNLEY:
It was a bit like trying to work a new mobile phone. It took a little while to work out the initial steps, but now it is second nature.
