Community Events Series
What is the Great Chase?
First run in 2003, GRV’s Great Chase series involves a community program which has raised more than $750,000 for groups that care for the intellectually and physically disabled.
How does it work?
Groups come together to enjoy a day out at their local racetrack where they receive free lunch, merchandise, a chance to socialise and meet some of the heroes of our sport… the greyhounds.
The groups are randomly allocated competing greyhounds to cheer for on the day, with the best performing dogs winning prize money for their respective groups.
Every group that attends a Great Chase community day at their local track is invited to the Great Chase Grand Final at The Meadows in Melbourne on Wednesday 19 October, where they will have the chance to share in more prize money and enjoy a bumper day at the races with a huge carnival-like atmosphere.
Who can participate?
The Great Chase community program is open to any organisation based in Victoria which cares for the intellectually or physically disabled.
