Star-studded fields unveiled for Topguns

The fields are in, and opinions won’t be far behind.

The line-ups for the 2026 Sportsbet Topgun and Sportsbet Topgun Stayers were revealed on this morning’s edition of Giddy-Up with Gareth Hall on SEN Track and Racing.com.

The selection panel met last weekend to settle on the finalists for the two Group 1 majors, to be run at The Meadows on Saturday November 7.

As always, the quality and depth are there for all to see.

The sprint feature has all of the big names who are ready to make their presense felt throughout Dream Chasers and it starts with the Topgun.

The staying feature has possibly the best depth that we’ve seen for a while, at least compared to last year. No doubt much discussion will take place about Without A Trace, whether she’s earned the right to be in this or whether poor recent runs were enough to tip her out.

We’ll get stuck into the selections and the fallout on tomorrow’s edition of Grey Areas, live from midday in the Watchdog App. Tune in and have your say.

The next layer of intrigue comes on Monday night, November 2, when the box draws for both Topguns will be conducted at The Meadows.

The Hume Cup heats and the box draw for the final will also be held that night, the decider joining the Topguns on November 7 for a triple-header of Group 1 racing.

It’s a big opening to the Dream Chasers carnival, which will again be live on Racing.com.
