Dayne Barry makes Going Greyhounds Debut

Passionate young race caller Dayne Barry made his Sky Racing Going Greyhounds debut this morning to preview the five heats of the Horsham Cup.

Heats of the Horsham Cup will be run on Friday night, with the first heat kicking off in race 4 at 7.50pm.

“Box one is only going to help Hotel Whisky One,” Dayne Barry said.

“If he leads, he will open up a big margin. I think he will be hard to beat. Hotel Whisky One is a clear on top selection for me.”

Heat two of the Horsham Cup, Barry is sticking with the punters fancy Nangar Jim.

“I think Nangar Jim will find the rail in this heat.”

“The greyhounds drawn in boxes one and two won’t be flash away which I think will allow him to show some really good early speed.

“Even if he doesn’t lead this Horsham Cup heat, I think he is strong enough to run over the top of them late.”

Tim Zoo (6) almost claims the Australian Cup. Winner – Mepunga Tully (4).

Tim Zoo is the headline act of the Horsham Cup series and features in the third heat, hot off the back of a second placing in the Group 1 Australian Cup.

“He is so versatile. You never lose faith that he can pick them up and run over the top of them.”

“Tim Zoo is going to be really hard to beat with the vacant box five. He should have plenty of room to move.”

“The thing I like about him is that he has raced here before and has a respectable personal best time of 27.15 (480m). Horsham is a track that you really do need race experience at because that first turn is sharp.”

Barry highlighted Bebop Jazz in Horsham heat four following a 29.11 second run over the 515m at Sandown Park on January 30.

Bebop Jazz wins at Sandown in 29.11 seconds over the 515 metres from box two.

“It was a brilliant run (at Sandown Park).”

“Her last three runs have been very good so that alerts us that she is back in career best form.”

“I think punters can have confidence that she can show that early speed and do everything she can to win this Horsham Cup heat.”

The final heat is headlined by Flying Zulu and Joey The Jet. Barry highted Joey The Jets 26.77 second run at Horsham in the lead up to the Horsham Cup series.

Joey The Jet wins at Horsham in 26.77 seconds over the 485 metres from box two.

“They don’t go much quicker than that. It was serious speed leading all the way and a perfect trial leading up to the Horsham Cup series.” Barry said.

“It is a stacked heat with plenty of good form in the race.”

Dayne Barry will be calling all of the action on Sky Racing for the Horsham Cup heat meeting. The first race jumps at 6.49pm.

“There are only five of them, but they are stacked with quality,” Barry said.

“I can’t go past Tim Zoo in the heats, you aren’t getting much of a price, but he is my on top selection and best bet for the program.”
