Vic reps set for National assignments

Aunt Virginia and Smooth Plane will fly the flag for the ‘Big V’ in the National Distance and National Sprint finals at Angle Park on Saturday August 24.

It’s a rare occasion where the Distance final probably carries more interest compared to the Sprint edition.

Aunt Virginia was superb in Victoria’s Distance decider. It was her truest staying display yet given she had the task of recovering from midfield to get the job done.

Aunt Virginia will trial at Angle Park this Saturday morning over 530m or 595m into the catching pen.

Smooth Plane is our representative in the Sprint final courtesy of a tough win.

Team Dailly have opted not to trial him at Angle Park so he’ll be fresh stepping into the final.

The National Straight Track Championship will also be held next Saturday where Zipping Gryllis and Mile A Minute will represent Victoria. Zipping Gryllis won’t trial at Murray Bridge while Mile A Minute will have a hit out there on Monday.

Box draws for all finals will be conducted today (Friday) via Greyhound Racing South Australia’s Facebook page.
