Victorian Provincial Trainer’s Premiership – Mark Delbridge

For the second year running, Mark Delbridge has been recognised as the winner of the Provincial Trainer’s Premiership at the Victorian Greyhound Awards.

This award recognises the trainer with the highest number of winners of full provincial stake money races conducted at Victorian country tracks, with Delbridge, who trains in partnership with wife Lisa and son Myles, topping the list of eligible trainers.

After preparing 304 provincial winners in the 2020/21 racing year, Delbridge, who’s based at Balliang, enjoyed another highly successful season, training 215 winners from 1133 starters.

Delbridge finished ahead of Rebecca Gibbons, who claimed 155 provincial winners from 615 starters.

Delbridge’s standout performer in the 2021/22 period was newly crowned Victorian Stayer of the Year Jarick Bale, winner of the Group 1 Sale Cup, with other prominent performers including Jarick Bale’s litter sister Graclyn Bale, Balbina Bale and Rilynn Bale.
