GRV IT security precautions

As you may be aware, the Australian Government announced on 19 June that a wide range of political and private sector organisations in Australia have come under cyber attack, carried out by a “sophisticated state-based cyber-actor”.

There is no evidence of any breaches to GRV IT systems but we are taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of your information. We have been working closely with our Cyber Security Partner in our response to these recent events and will continue to do so as the situation progresses.

Email is often the main pathway for cyber-attacks. All emails from GRV to participants and clubs are protected by industry leading cyber security standards. These emails will always include @grv.org.au at the end. If any email appears to be from GRV but does not include @grv.org.au, do not open it and instead notify GRV.

Please note that GRV will never ask for personal banking or contact information by email.

Also, please be careful when reviewing any email received. You should be confident that the email and the sender are legitimate before opening.

All GRV IT systems are secure and all measures being taken are purely precautionary. We will update you if there are any major developments.
