Vale Russell Nash

Prominent greyhound owner Russell Nash has passed away at age 92.

Russell was introduced to greyhound racing in the 1960s through family friend Geoff Dawson, former Chair of the Sandown GRC.

The first greyhound he owned was Cursorial, trained by Bill Lecky. Cursorial had a phenomenal impact as a broodmatron, producing New Mariner (1973 Melbourne Cup & National Sprint Championship), San Remo (1979 Silver Chief) and Zulu Moss (dam of champion sire Chief Dingaan).
