Monster effort for Jewels

It is exciting to think there is a greyhound from the My Bro Fabio and Paua To Admit litter that could be quicker than Paua Of Oscar.

Paua Of Oscar equalled Aston Bolero’s 400m track record in his third career start and trainer Steven Bruce White said that he has one who was trialing quicker – Paua Of Jewels.

Paua Of Jewels is having his second career start at Warragul tonight in race three from box three after a dominant maiden victory at the start of the month.

“Jewels hadn’t been in a field before his first start so he will get better and better the more racing he gets.”

As if living up to your litter siblings track record performance isn’t enough to overcome. Jewels has a 40 kilo frame to contend with.

“He looks every bit of 40 kilos and he covers a lot of ground with his stride,” Steven said.

Steven also has former South Australian Rouge in race nine from box three.

Rouge is unbeaten from his two starts in Victoria, which included a dead heat for first.

“After it happened, I couldn’t remember if it had ever happened to me before,” Steven said.

“He is a funny dog but I am really happy how he is settling in now and I think he will continue to improve week by week.”
