Werribee Cup features at Longwood

Coursing heads to Longwood on Sunday for the Noel Ryan Memorial Werribee Cup.

Some of the best coursing greyhounds go head-to-head for the $1,200 winners’ purse, but there is one big name missing – Barracuda Fozz.

Last start Western Saws Cup winner at Lang Lang, Barracuda Fozz wasn’t nominated for the Werribee Cup after sustaining a minor toe injury in his last course.

“I have been icing him up after he hurt his toe in the course against Bees On Fire,” Trainer Brian Fothergill said.

“I am hoping to keep him rested and hope he is all good for the Waterloo Cup.”

Without Barracuda Fozz it is up to his litter brother Barramundi Fozz to fly the Fothergill flag.

“I am not going to write him off just get. This dog is chasing harder than before and he isn’t too far off what Barracuda can run,” Fothergill said.
