Dak to Have a Crack in Perth

In-form Victorian sprinter Crackerjack Dak has won a ticket to the Group 1 AGRA National Sprint Championship (NSC) Grand Final in Perth after capitalising on his inside draw at The Meadows on Saturday night.

The $4.60 chance led all the way in 30.054sec from Box 1 in the Victorian final of the NSC, and he will jet west on Thursday, giving him nine days to acclimatise to conditions.

This will be the first time Crackerjack Dak has travelled interstate in his 40 start career, which includes 11 wins from his past 21 races.

Tom Dailly, husband of trainer Andrea Dailly, doesn’t expect the travel to pose a concern.

“He’s a very professional greyhound and takes everything in his stride. Nothing seems to bother him so we expect him to have no problem travelling to Perth.”

“We’ll trial him at Cannington to give him a look at the track.  As long as he trials ok then one trial should be enough for him,” Dailly said.

The Box Draws for the National Sprint Championship and National Distance Championships will be conducted following this Saturday night’s home finals at Cannington.
