WANGARATTA RESOLUTION REACHED

The Board of Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) today resolved not to open a greyhound racing track at Wangaratta.

Following its closure in 2009 the GRV Board has received representations from Wangaratta participants and other industry stakeholders.

In making this decision, the Board considered a significant amount of information, including a copy of the final Aurecon Report (commissioned by local council), and determined that such a development was not the best use of stakeholder funds.

The GRV Board will however look to improve the situation of the local Wangaratta slipping track with a view of developing ongoing maintenance assistance and a longer term lease on the land.
