FAMILY TRIFECTA

Anakie trainer Angela Langton was right on the money in her assessment of Thursday night’s Group 3 SA Derby at Angle Park [515m].

Despite her greyhound Yowyeh having to exit the potentially awkward box 4 trap, Angela predicted he was perfectly drawn to win, and he did just that.

Yowyeh, who was also bred by Angela, paid $4.20 for the win and collected a $25,000 first prize.

Incidentally, the runner-up in the race was Black Hombre, who is trained by Allan Britton [father of Angela’s partner Jeff], while Jeff Britton trains the third-placed Explosive Drop.

Jeff won the Group 3 SA Oaks seven nights earlier with Mepunga Nicky.

Yowyeh’s career continues to rapidly grow in stature, as he won the Cranbourne Puppy Classic two starts earlier.
