Redeveloped straight venue on target for reopening
The Healesville Greyhound Racing Association (HGRA) and Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) are pleased to announce that racing will commence at the redeveloped Healesville track and facilities on Sunday 2nd October 2011. The State Government supported project will be completed on time and on budget. The track will be officially opened on Sunday 9th October 2011 by the The Hon. Dr. Denis Napthine, Minister for Racing. On this day, the heats of the 2011 Lion Quality Healesville Cup will be held over the new 350m distance. |
A new pavillion, which comes as part of a redevelopment at the popular Healesville greyhound racetrack, will provide patrons with a new level of comfort. |
This year, the cup winner will receive $40,000, making the event the richest greyhound straight race in the country. Gerrie Sneyders, Healesville Greyhound Racing Association (GRA) Manager is very excited about the redevelopment and believes the new track and facilities will benefit not only those in the greyhound racing industry but the general public as well. |
