Lioness Lulu Second in Gold Cup at Wentworth Park

Lioness Lulu was more than respectable in defeat tonight finishing second in the Group 3 $33,400 Gold Cup at Wentworth Park behind Sandave Sapphire.

After an emotional day for Mark Giddings following the passing of his father Brian Davis, Lioness Lulu put in a heart filled effort in her third group race performance.

Lioness Lulu started as $2.30 favourite in front of Sandave Sapphire who paid $5.00 for the Group 3 victory.

Sandave Sapphire lead from start to finish with Victoria’s Lioness Lulu staying within a few lengths throughout the 720 metre journey, which was won in a slick 41.84 seconds.
