Wet And Wild wins a thriller as class of 2015 do battle at Sandown Park

Wet And Wild has hung on for a narrow win in the 2015 Ready 2 Race Final (515m) at Sandown Park on Friday, a race comprising the top prize money earners to emerge from last year’s R2R sales at Bendigo.

Purchased for only $3,000, Wet And Wild, pictured with owner/trainer Adele Powell (photo courtesy Paul Munt), notched his seventh win from 34 starts since making his debut in February.

The $12,000 first prize took Wet And Wild’s career earnings up to almost $20,000.

Runner-up Elite Shiraz (Michael Chilcott) collected a $4,000 second prize, boosting his prize money to $11,305 after being bought for $6,750, while Sir Richard (Dawn Johnston) won $2,000 for running third and has now won $10,220 after being sold for $7,250.
