‘Gippsland Star to Win Geelong Cup’: Watchdog

The Watchdog has completed his extended analysis of tonight’s $64,000 Group 2 SITA Geelong Cup, and the form expert says Gippsland star Luca Neveelk will claim the $45,000 first prize.

A winner of 20 races from just 24 starts, Luca Neveelk, who was bred and is trained by Gerry Kleeven, was the fastest heat winner last week in 25.467sec.

“He showed his customary ridiculous early speed in his heat, managing to gain a massive five length margin over the field to the first turn,” The Watchdog says.

“He maintained that margin all the way and saluted handsomely in the best heat time. He is a model of consistency and only misfortune out of the boxes will prevent him of a Group Race title here.”
