Finding a Winner on TAB Melbourne Cup Night

The elite of greyhound racing converge at Sandown Park on Friday night with two Group 1s set down for decision.

The first of the Group 1s is the 2015 Bold Trease (Race 6 @ 8.28pm), carrying $145,000 prize money, and I’m keen on Lithgow Panther.

The former Sydneysider has looked a little disappointing of late prior to an outstanding second placing in his heat behind Come On Fantasy (Replay).

Trainer Rob Britton will have this greyhound set for the major and I’m expecting a big performance from the rails alley. With plenty of strength on paper, I am expecting a big finish with the likes of Bourbski Fever, Luna Jinx and Kraken Flash to be powering home late.

BOLD TREASE SELECTIONS – 1 3 7 4

The largest mountain to climb in greyhound racing is undoubtedly the TAB Melbourne Cup and eight greyhounds attempt to arrive at the climax of the industry at 9.08pm on Friday night.

‘If Dyna Double One can produce a similar performance to his best of the card heat win in 29.05, he could push Fernando Bale if something wasn’t to go to plan for the superstar.’

The champion Fernando Bale should prove flawless and too good again. He will no doubt become the greatest of all time if he can salute in the world’s richest greyhound race, which would see him pocketing another $420,000.

If Dyna Double One can produce a similar performance to his best of the card heat win in 29.05 (Replay), he could push Fernando Bale if something wasn’t to go to plan for the superstar. I’m expecting Bearville Azza and Secret Spell to fight out the minors as they both appear well boxed.

MELBOURNE CUP SELECTIONS – 6 2 1 8

Aside from the big two, there are another two listed events including the Cup Night Sprint (515m) and Cup Night Middle Distance (595m) events. I’m expecting Xtreme Knocka and Above All to run decent races at value in very open fields.

If you’re looking to build a bank early in the meeting then play a Quinella on Ima Fairytale and Harlon in Race Four.
Despite coming from different formless I think they will fight the race out from Ikaku Bale and Tobias Kelton.

The racing is set to shine at Sandown Park for what could be a history making night of greyhound racing! Be there or tune in to see a champion arrive at the peak of the Everest.

NOTE: In a boost for punters, TAB is guaranteeing Friday night’s Sandown Park Quaddie pool is a minimum $600,000 after tipping in a Jackpot amount of $180,000. The Quaddie applies to Races 5-8.

MY FLEXI QUADDIE SELECTIONS: 4,5,7,8 / 1,3,4,6,7 / 2,5,6,8 / 6  (25% for $20)
