Ultimate Magic (pictured box eight) is currently sitting as $3.00 favoruite heading into the Group One Maturity Classic (525m) on Saturday night at The Meadows.

A winner of four races from four starts at The Meadows, the son of Magic Sprite and Daydream will have to contest with a number of greyhounds in the field who have explosive early speed including Kilty Express (pictured box four) (box six) and Rippin Hayne (box eight).

“He carved those sections out which is probably what won him the race. He loves this track and he is a good little chaser and has taken a liking to the right track,” trainer Anthony Azzopardi explained.

“He is consistent, the time he ran could be good enough to win him the final.”

Ultimate Magic’s 23rd career start will be his first group one experience, early July he finished fifth in the Group Two Bendigo Cup (425m).

The Raymond Drew trained Kilty Express led Ultimate Magic in the semi final last weekend, recording a sizzling first sectional of 4.97sec.

“He is in the race now so anything can happen,” handler Dustin Drew explained.
