Dyna Chasing Group One Double

Group 1 TAB Melbourne Cup winner Dyna Double One is racing in Queensland on Thursday in a heat of the $107,000 Group 1 Brisbane Cup (520m) at Albion Park.

While the Andrea Dailly-trained superstar is the headline act among the six heats, another greyhound with a chance to make a name for herself is fellow Victorian Sacramento Sal.

Sacramento Sal, pictured with trainer Jessica Sharp, was the first reserve in last Friday night’s $600,000 TAB Melbourne Cup.

“She was so close to making the Melbourne Cup, which would have given us an enormous thrill,” Sharp’s husband Jason said.

“I give her a rough chance of winning her Brisbane Cup heat but it will be tough for her as she has never raced at Albion Park before and she is in a hard heat.”

“She did walk the track on Tuesday though, so hopefully that helps her chances.”

All six heat winners and the two fastest runners-up will qualify for the $75,000- to-the-winner final on Thursday 3 December.
