Traralgon Cup: Fernando Bale On Repeat; Jump. Lead. Win. Repeat.

Fernando Bale has continued his spectacular strike rate for group racing at Traralgon on Saturday Night out taking out the 2015 Group 2 Traralgon Cup.

It was no surprise to see the white and brindle dog explode from box six, running 4.67 to the first mark to run a new track record time of 29.90.

Harlon (2) for trainer Michael Fearnley put in a performance to remember, sitting a distant second to Fernando Bale throughout and holding off a late surge from Emrys (1).

Fernando’s blistering track record in the 2015 Traralgon Cup accompanied his eighth group victory in his 36 career starts.

Trainer Andrea Dailly was reluctant to call the results before the race was run, reminding the crowd there were still seven other dogs in the race.

“He is part of the crowd at home but he is very special, he is a special dog to have in your kennel. ” Trainer Andrea Dailly said before the race.

After the race Dailly was happy praise her superstar chaser.

“He’s wonderful, isn’t he? It’s amazing the way he can get out of the boxes!”

With a number of group races on the calendar, Dailly has decided to give the new Speed Star race at Sandown a miss next week.

“We will give him a bit of a break and see if we can get him ready for the Adelaide Cup.”

Fernando Bale has now won two country cups, first Bendigo and now Traralgon. If he is to win another country cup he will receive the $50,000 Country Cup bonus, the Geelong Cup just may be in the picture.
