Hutchy on the Outer

IT’S taken 18 weeks, but finally one of the Off the Bench hosts has been officially “voted out” of the Dr Who Survivor Quiz.

The show’s host, Craig Hutchison, was the unlucky man to be booted out this week – with Jordan Bash deciding to elect Liam Pickering’s syndicate after winning this week’s quiz.

For the first time this year, the famous Dr Who Quiz has become the Dr Who “Survivor” Quiz, with each host of the Off the Bench show (Hutchison, Pickering and Dr Turf) having to get seven winners each to guarantee safety.

From here, the winners who had elected to be in Hutchison’s syndicate will be drafted into one of Pickering or Dr Turf’s crew.

Each winner will own a ten per cent share in a racing greyhound – to be bought later this year at the Ready 2 Race Sales.

Hutchison said he was shocked to be the first booted out.

“I couldn’t believe it,” Hutchison said. “I’m clearly the most likeable out of the three hosts, so for Pickers and Dr Turf to beat me really hurts.

“After the success of my previous dog Hot Carbon who was “simply the best”, I just can’t understand how some of these owners didn’t want to be part of my team.

“I’ll have to re-group and be at my best for the upcoming city vs country series which launches in the next couple of weeks.”

The successful partnership between Greyhound Racing Victoria and the Off the Bench program has seen dozens of new greyhound owners join the industry.

There are several dogs still running every week, including Waterfront and Frankie Tana.
