GRV To Continue Digital Revolution

Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) today announced that it will launch a new-look website (grv.org.au) next Wednesday 11 June that is aimed at continuing the digital revolution within the sport and providing a more engaging content offering for consumers.

The new website, combined with improvements to FastTrack (www.fasttrack.grv.org.au) – GRV’s data and operations portal – the revamped digital presence is designed to make engagement with the sport less intimidating for newcomers whilst still catering to the needs of highly engaged participants.

The need to change the current GRV website has been identified through a number of channels, including industry feedback, with the modern and user-friendly platform to provide a more enjoyable experience for both novice and experienced consumers and a better, more engaging flow of communication for members.

Radically changing the look, feel and usability of the GRV website is another step in the digital revolution at GRV and follows on from recent establishment of GRV’s social media channels, the publication of every Victorian race replay for free via YouTube and an update to GRV’s FastTrack information system in May last year.

General Manager of Marketing and Communications at GRV, Campbell Davies, said the website redevelopment is considered to be a vital step in the evolution of the sports’ digital media presence.

“There are certain expectations from consumers who look for your brand or product online and we weren’t meeting many of those expectations,” Mr. Davies said.

“This development will allow us to seamlessly integrate social media and multi-media into our communications leading to a more engaging consumer experience.

“This now gives us a highly functional and responsive focal point for all our communications channels to point back to and let the audience experience the content surrounding Victorian greyhound racing from any device in a way they haven’t been able to do before.”

The launch of the new website will lead to a more engaging and shareable content offering by integrating multi-media and social media directly into posts made on the site. GRV is currently targeting its content offering to educate and attract new consumers to the sport and make information as accessible as possible. This roll-out will be followed by changes to the Greyhound Adoption Program (GAP) website and all club websites completing a comprehensive suite of online assets.

Current users of the GRV website, namely registered GRV members, have not been forgotten with the advent of new features to improve the communication of racing operations matters in GRV’s data and operations portal FastTrack. Usability of FastTrack will be enhanced, with a members portal to be the focal point for those within the sport that require quick and easy access to race day operations information and special announcements that were previously housed via the ‘ticker’ at the top of the former website.

This latest development is aimed at positioning greyhound racing at the forefront of not just the racing industry, but the sports industry in general, as the drive toward a competitive and engaging content offering continues.
