Ronan Izmir won the Group 2 Bendigo Cup last night, just eight days after winning the Traralgon Puppy Classic.

With the late scratching of Gardam Ace (Graeme Jose) leaving the field with just seven runners, the Jason Thompson-trained Ronan Izmir found the lead soon after the start and from there his class ensured he kept his opposition at bay.

A son of Elite State and Adhara Izmir, Ronan Izmir has won 12 of 23 starts, and he has won nine from 13 since he arrived at Thompson
