Destini Fireball (Box 2 – $5.90) caused a massive upset in the Group 1 Macro Meats Zoom Top (725m) on Saturday night, winning the $75,000 first-prize in front of Bell Haven and the mighty Miata (Box 4 – $1.35f).

Trained by Norm Rinaldi, Destini Fireball jumped straight to the front from Box 2 while hot favourite Miata missed the start horribly and was at the rear of the field.

As the field passed the winning post for the first time, Destini Fireball held a comfortable lead over Tasmanian Bell Haven (Box 3 – $6.40) for Ted Medhurst, while Miata was still struggling to make her way through the field, jostling with reserve Erica Allen for position down the back straight.

As the field rounded the final bend, Destini Fireball was challenged by Bell Haven but was able to hold her off to win by a head, while Miata stormed home late to claim third in what was as stunning run.
