‘Tomahawk’ & ‘Tonk’

Geelong spearhead Tom Hawkins is having a great season in front of goal, while champion greyhound Tiggerlong Tonk is starring on the racetrack.

Consequently, punters will be hoping they can ‘put one through the big sticks’ with the following cross-sports offer from TAB.

The betting giant is offering $5.00 about the ‘Tomahawk’ kicking 2+ goals against Essendon on Sunday and the ‘Tonk’ winning the Group 3 Healesville Cup (350m).

Hawkins has bagged 35 goals in 14 games (an average of 2.5 goals per game) and is leading the race for the Coleman Medal.

Geelong are third (40pts) on the AFL ladder with 10 wins from 14 games and Essendon are 11th (26pts) with six wins and one draw from 14 matches.

Meanwhile, the Correy Grenfell-trained Tiggerlong Tonk has won 26 races from 50 starts – including five of his last seven. The G2 Horsham Cup winner is also a four-time G1 finalist.

Tiggerlong Tonk was the fastest Healesville Cup qualifier (18.93sec) and is currently a $3.00F on TAB’s fixed odds market to take out the $47,000-to-the-winner final. He’ll exit from the coveted ‘red’ alley, from which he’s undefeated in five starts.

The Cats v Bombers clash at the Gabba commences at 3.35pm, while Tiggerlong Tonk is in Race 7 Box 1 at 12.59pm.

Tiggerlong Tonk, with trainer Correy Grenfell, has won five from five out of Box 1.
