Hooked On Scotch steps up in distance

Hooked On Scotch is one of the fastest greyhounds we’ve ever seen and he steps up to 595m for the first time this Thursday night.

Throughout his 25 starts he’s produced some jaw dropping performances which have suggested, whenever the time was to come, that he’d be more than equipped over further ground.

He meets the highly talented Weblec Ace who was luckless in last week’s McKenna Memorial final. It will be Hooked On Scotch’s first start back in Victoria since finishing fifth in the Brisbane Cup won by kennelmate Black Opium earlier this month.

Black Opium is also a name that headlines the card. The queen of Australian greyhound racing has drawn box 5 in the Free-For-All and meets top line sprinters Mepunga Daniel, Faithy Bale and Mepunga Isla just to name a few.

With those two races to be run leading up to the Geelong and Collingwood clash there’s no reason to miss them!

The last leg of the quaddie features the in-form Last Hurrah who was runner-up in last week’s McKenna Memorial as well as Bendigo Gold Rush Maiden winner Zipping Albert who makes is metropolitan debut.
