Zipping Hooch running for a cure in Launching Pad

If Zipping Hooch is to win or place in this Thursday’s group 2 Launching Pad final 5% of prize money earned will be donated to Declan Foott’s Ride to a Cure.

Declan started his journey last Monday riding from Melbourne to Darwin hoping to raise $25,000 to help provide care and treatment to those suffering from cancer.

$210,000 is up for grabs in the Launching Pad final and if Zipping Hooch is to win the race $7500 will be donated to the cause.

“Dad and I have decided that if Hooch wins any prize money in the final we’re going to donate 5% of the winnings. Declan is a mate of mine, he’s a legend and doing it for a super cause,” said Matt Lanigan, trainer of Zipping Hooch.

Zipping Hooch has drawn box 8 in Thursday night’s $150,000 to-the-winner final and is rated a $10 chance by tab.com.au.

Please see Declan’s pledge below.

Hi thank you for viewing my page, I Declan am incredibly passionate about the prevention of cancer and aim to reduce the toll it has on an individual, family or community.

I pledge to ride from Melbourne to Darwin starting on the 3rd of April 2017, riding through VIC, NSW, QLD, and finally concluding within Northern Territory, Darwin. Initially we wished to fund-raise $10,000 for the Cancer Council Victoria, to reduce the prevalence of cancer within Australian and communities worldwide. This goal has been surpassed with unforeseen levels of support and therefore we have decided to raise our goal; to $25,000 to better provide help from the Ride To A Cure event and leave a bigger mark upon helping cancer become a thing of the past!!

Please donate to reach our goal of $25,000 to provide care and treatment to those most in need and provide education of its prevention. My significant motivation was driven from the affect cancer has had on my family and community with the passing of my mother, Tania Foott. This with current evidence within our Australian and communities all over the world, has given me no choice but to act. Please donate to a better future free of cancer.

Thanks and regards,
Declan Foott
