Warragul hosts the second leg of the Gippsland Carnival with the heats of the Group Two Warragul Cup set to run on Saturday night – the $47,000 to-the-winner feature drawing in the 2016 Melbourne Cup winner Ando’s Mac (pictured) from New South Wales.
The five heats of the Warragul Cup didn’t disappoint with some of Victoria’s biggest names returning to Gippsland including: Sleek Master, Jesaulenko, Pantera Nera, Aston Bolero, Shima Song, Aqua Cheetah, Zambora Brockie and last start Sale Cup winner Dundee Osprey.
Two heats of the Gippsland Distance Challenge have also been added to Saturday’s card with three of the 13 runners having competed in the Group One Sale Cup on Boxing Day.
