VIDEO: Bendigo Cup Interviews – Heats 5 to 8

Greyhound chiropractor and trainer John Barbara insists his star greyhound Zoltina’s Legacy (pictured winning his heat – black vest) will be “cherry ripe” for Friday night’s $67,000 Group 2 3BO Bendigo Cup (425m).

The son of Sir Prize and Zoltina Jay boasts the impeccable record of 21 wins from 37 starts, including an unbeaten record over the 425 metre trip at Bendigo where he has won on six occasions.

“He trialled the house down at Geelong heading into his heat so we thought he’d go pretty good,” Barbara said after Zoltina’s Legacy’s heat win on Sunday night in 23.94sec.

“He pulled up a bit sore after his previous start, so I gave him a couple of weeks off leading into his Bendigo Cup heat, and he has bounced back better than ever.”

Friday night will be Zoltina’s Legacy’s first appearance at group level, and he will be chasing a $47,000 first prize.

He is a $7.00 chance after drawing box 3.
