Sandown Park Preview: Punters to Fantasise

It’s now time to preview the meeting from Sandown Park on Thursday night as the spring racing continues to roll on. There are 12 races over the night with the first set to bounce at 7.08pm.

The new addition to the Brooke Ennis kennel, Diva’s Princess should make it two from two for her new trainer as she exits box two in the first of the night. The daughter of Magic Sprite showed good early burn on the way to her 30.10 Victorian debut maiden win (Replay). In a race that doesn’t seem to have a lot of early pace, she looks set to enjoy a soft run to the first corner, which should have her cruising to her second career win.

The fourth race of the night has the stayers clashing in the first of two heats over the 715m. I thought the run of Come On Fantasy was really good at Ballarat in her last outing as she wore down Unix Bale in 38.10 (Replay). If she can produce a similar performance she will be giving this event a massive shake.

Mepunga Treasure picked up some terrific prize money (almost $30,000) at her last outing (Replay) and with the rails draw in race five, she looks a massive chance to continue her winning ways. I thought the run of Gorham Bale was eye catching as he flew home for fourth last outing and I’ll be expecting the Steven Collins prepared chaser to be right in the finish as well.
The Free For All sees a sensational clash of speed, strength and consistency. Billo’s PickAngie Rocks and Lamia Bale appear the main players in what looks an extremely talented best eight.

Racing is set to finish up at 10.57pm so once again good luck and happy punting at Sandown Park on Thursday night.
