Back to Sandown Park we go this Thursday night with 12 races on the card, set to kick off at 7.05pm.
It’s fantastic to see three 715m grade five heats and in the first of those (race 4), I’m super keen on Callum’s Mum (pictured). Coming off some encouraging runs in top grade races she looks set to fly to the line late. Her run two starts ago when fourth in the ‘Destini Fireball stayers’ special event was very, very promising to say the least (Replay). Boasting a speedy P.B over the 515m, she looks set to trouble the scorer here!
The second of the staying heats has Love Affair back to grade five for the first time in a while and I’ll be expecting to see her trademark finishing burst late. No doubt her obvious danger will be Esparza, who steps back up to the 715m after some eye catching runs over the 600m.
We then move to the ninth on the card and I feel Cosmic Owl could be set to win. Her run last outing when third was impressive and she showed a good turn of mid race pace (Replay). From the rails alley I’ll be hoping she can position into the top two or three early and from there I’ll be confident she can salute.
I’m a big believer that you don’t have to find the winner to make a profit and here’s a prime example. Dynamic Punch looks a sensational place bet at probably $3.00-$4.00 for a place. With speed in one and two and a wide runner in four, he looks set to get the dreamy run behind the speed in the early section of the race! I’m expecting his run to be similar to his win at The Meadows four starts ago (Replay).
