Rock ‘N Race at The Bool

The Warrnambool Greyhound Racing Club took a major step in entrenching itself as a fundamental component of Warrnambool’s May Racing Carnival when the Australian INXS Show rocked Wannon Park on the night it also hosted the finals of the 2015 Warrnambool Cup & Classic finals.

Complimentary ‘Rock ‘N Race’ Buses ran from the thoroughbred racetrack after the last race straight to the greyhounds where racegoers danced away to INXS classics like New Sensation, Devil Inside & Never Tear Us Apart.

Despite the show almost being cancelled due to a flood of rain which inevitably led to the performance being moved inside the grandstand instead of the centre of the greyhound track as was originally planned, guitarist Rob Moody said the band had a ball.

“It was really good. It was a nice, intimate show. The people were really into it and made heaps of noise and heaps of fun,” he said.

Among the huge crowd were members of rival greyhound clubs, who were keen to explore the possibility of the Australian INXS Show playing at their club, and the band was certainly open to expanding Rock ‘N Race, with Moody stating “we’ll play anywhere.”
