Sweet Taste of Success

WARRNAMBOOL may take the spotlight with quality fields in the cup heats and classic semis this week, but don’t let Ballarat slip under your radar – as there are some excellent fields of racing on show tonight.

The punting kicks off in race four with a couple of good choices on hand for punters – mainly in the form of Not Broken (5) and Noise Attack (1) – the latter of these I am selecting. Though only lightly raced thus far, Noise Attack looks to have enough about him to score here tonight. His commanding Best of the Night triumph at Warragul last week was a showing of good he can be over the middle distance Replay

Moving onto the sixth of the evening, I really like the look of Sugar Lips (7). She scored emphatically over this track and distance from the outside in March, and I’m going to back her to improve on her recent showing at Sandown Park – where she copped some heavy checks from the field. Her recent wins at the Meadows and here at Ballarat (Replay) have proven her class – with a clear run she could come up on top.

Later on in the night, I’m really keen on Hard Urned Burst from the inside draw. He possesses blistering pace, and he has been racing as consistently as any over the recent part of his career. Competition will come from the outside in Pay Da Trail – as he has tasted success over each of his three starts over this trip, but I can’t look past Hard Urned Burst. If he goes anywhere near his best time for this track and distance, he’ll be unstoppable.

Watch: Hard Urned Burst scores emphatically at Shepparton last month over the 390 metres.
