Going Nutty for Usain

Sandown Park lights up Thursday night with a super program of greyhound racing with the feature being the Group 2 ‘Razldazl’ Launching Pad and a super support card including the Group Listed Easter Gift, so the racing is sure to be red hot.

A night with plenty of Easter activities for the kids, well known as one of the best family nights, the racing on the track is sure to match with the first due at 7.05pm.

Early in the night I’m keen on the chances of Memory Bound (8) drawn perfectly in Race 2, a novice final over 715m.

His win last start proved he is drawn best out wide where he can loop the field into the lead early. With the step to staying racing he should be extremely hard to beat.

Memory Bound (8) showed a liking for a wide draw last start at Sandown.

The feature races take place with the Group Listed Easter Gift at 8.52pm and the Group 2 ‘Razldazl’ Launcing Pad at 9.32pm. Both are extremely even top class races, I’m leaning toward Armed And Ready (1), who is drawn perfectly in the Easter Gift, and Usain I’m Nutty (4), pictured above, to handle the awkward draw and win the $210,000 Launching Pad.

Toward the end of the card I like the chances of Spring Leaf (1) who has drawn well in Race 9. At his last Victorian run, he was outpaced by Ronray Spirit early and I don’t believe there is that kind of pace in this race. From the rails alley I’m expecting a forward showing and hopefully an all the way win with the main danger being Caustic Bale (3).

Spring Leaf (3) led before running third behind the classy Ronray Spirit at The Meadows on March 14.

With the lucky last of 12 due at 10.58pm, Its good luck, happy punting and most importantly Happy Easter.
